Anna Zirdeli - Public Relations Manager

Anna Zirdeli was born in 1987 in Larissa.  She studied Management and Economics at the Department of Business Administration at the ATEI of Serres.  At the same time she worked on television and radio stations (Tvs - TV Noize - Macedonia TV).  She undertakes the supervision of the construction company "Al-art MON. LTD" while studying acting in Athens. She works for Audiotex SA and Ant1 TV for two consecutive years.


Michalis Marioras – Program & Training Manager

Michalis Marioras was born in Athens (1974) and graduated from Ionidios Model High School.
Studied at Faculty of Theology, School of Social Theology-National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1993-1997), Université de Fribourg, Faculté autonome de Théologie protestante de l’Université de Genève, Institut d’études supérieures en Théologie orthodoxe auprès du Centre orthodoxe du Patriarcat oecuménique de Chambésy- Suisse (1998-2000), Fachbereich Evangelische Theologie, Philipps-Universität Marburg an der Lahn- Deutschland (2000-2002), Faculty of Theology, School of Theology-National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2002-2005).
Scholarships: Foundation for Interreligious and Intercultural Research and Dialogue (2000-2002), Greek Ministry of Education (1998-2000).
Languages: French (excellent), English (excellent), German (very well), Arab (only reading), Italian (a little).
During 2002-2007 worked as an instructional personnel at the Secondary Educational System (private school: Ellinogermaniki Agogi), 2008 appointed as a Lecturer, Faculty of Theology, School of Theology-National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and 2016 as an Assistant Professor to the same department. He is a member of several Review Committees of Ph.D and Master Thesis and Supervisor of Master Thesis.
Also teaches as an external lecturer to the Post Graduate Program of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens: «International Medicine Management of Health Crisis» (2010-2013), to the educational programs of Institution of Pastoral Training, Athens Archdiocese (2012-), at the School of Administration and Management of Greek Air Force (SDIEP 2009- .
During 2009-2011 was a Special Advisor at the Ministry of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs concerning religious issues such as the Islamic mosque and cemetery in Athens, the muslim minority in Thrace, migration issues, interreligious dialogue etc.
Since 2013 collaborate as a Special Scientist with the Centre for Security Studies (KEMEA) of the Hellenic Ministry of Public Order and Citizen Protection.
He was officially invited by the: (2012) United States Department of State to participate in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) entitled “Integration of Migrant Muslim Youth in Greece: Challenges and Prospects”, (2015) The Journalists and Writers Foundation (Istanbul), (2015) The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (Great Britain).
He is a full member of the Special Committee of Immigrants and Refugees of the Greek Church.
He has published several articles and four books: Pre-islamic Arab religions: The Expected and the Unexpected, Athens (2015, 433pp.), Islamic Pathways, Muslim approaches, Athens (2014, 285pp.), The Dialogue of Muslims and westerns scholars about Sharī‘a, vol.i, Prophet and Law in Islam, Athens (2014, 183pp.), The Dialogue of Muslims and westerns scholars about Sharī‘a, vol.ii, Sunna and Sharī‘a in Islam, Athens (2014, 371pp.).
His research interests, publications and teaching cover the field of History of Religions (especially the religion of Islam), Church and State Relationships in Greece, Religious Education, Specificities and Human Rights of Religious Minorities and Migrants.

Dimitrios Alefantis President

Dimitrios Alefantis was born in Agia Paraskevi, Greece in 1966. He studied Economics and is active in the construction and real estate management for the last 25 years. 
In 2008 alongside other active citizens of Agia Paraskevi, he composed the independent civil movement called "ΠΡΩΤΟΒΟΥΛΙΑ ΕΥΘΥΝΗΣ" (Responsibility Initiative). In 2010 he announced his candidacy for the first time with the party  "ΑΓΙΑ ΠΑΡΑΣΚΕΥΗ Η ΠΟΛΗ ΜΑΣ" (Agia Paraskevi, Our City) and was elected as a town councillor.

He served as Administrative Deputy Mayor for one and a half year. While in Office he came up against four challenges: facing and solving functional problems which were created the last decades, creating the right circumstances in order to update the function of the  administrative services, in order to update the function of the administrative services, the adjustment to the prescripts of "Callicrate's" plan and the creation of a better working environment for the municipal employees.


Theodoros Kounas Financial Manager

Theodoros Kounas is a banking and financial services executive for more than 14 years. He has great experience in the fields of Retail banking, Affluent Banking, Banking card business and Payments, Sales and Marketing, Investments, IT, Digital Marketing and Social Media.

He is a banking instructor with over 500 hours of teaching and a certified Investment Advisor by the Bank of Greece.

In addition he is the founder and CEO of a popular news website in Greece called "www.OloiGiaOlous.gr" (Included (2013) in the top 700 sites of Greece by Alexa) and the Company OGO.gr "Online Growth Opportunity"- 2014 Digital Marketing and Social Media business.

In the past, through being actively involved in local politics in his Municipality, he acted as member of the board of the Municipal Sports Organization and the Private Company operating the Municipality's Nurseries.

He has two Bachelor degrees, in Business Administration and in Computer Information Systems from the American College of Greece and he is currently pursuing an MBA.

He speaks Greek, English and German and he has various professional accreditations and certificates in the fields of Banking, Investments, Cards & Payments, Digital Banking, IT and Marketing.


Eleftheriοs Oikonomou Project Manager

Eleftherios Ikonomou is a retired Lieutenant General of the Greek Police and former Citizen Protection Minister. 

During his Leadership (2009-2011), the terrorist organization "Επαναστατικός Αγώνας" was dismantled, the Financial Police and Financial and Economic Crime Unit Service were created, the Two-wheel Policing Team (ΔΙΑΣ) was founded and many criminal organizations' masterminds were arrested.

In September 1974, he joined the Force of the former Greek Gendarmerie and graduated the Officer's Academy in 1981. He served in many operational and executive Services, particularly on State Safety. He taken part in various specialized seminars both in Greece and abroad, concerning police interest matters as well as in Task Forces of the European Union.

He is Honorary Vice President of the Panhellenic Federation of Police Officers and was the first Spokesman of the Greel Police and the Ministry of Public Order, a position in which he served from March 2001 to March 2006. He was in charge of the communicational strategy while the terrorist froups "November 17th" and "Rebellius Cause" were dismantled. He was in charge of the security for the Presidency of the European Union from Greece in 2003 and of the Olympic Games held in Athens, Greece in 2004. 

In March 2008, he was promoted Major General and a year later he was promoted Lieutenant General and became General Police Inspector of the Southern Greece. In November 5th 2009, he undertook duty as Chief of the Greek Police until 2011 when he became Secretary General of Public Order.

In 2012 he became Vice Secretary in the Ministry of Citizen Protection and in May 17th of the same year, he became Citizen Protection Minister in the caretaker government of Loukas Papademos.


Nina Bati, Language Officer

Nina Bati graduated from the American Pierce College of Athens in 1982. The same year she enrolled the Jewish University of Jerusalem where she studied Classical and General Studies.

From 1992 to 1994, she teaches Hebrew, Greek and French in Great Britain.

From 1995 until today, she resides in Greece and works as a translator and a foreign languages teacher.

She is fluent in Greek, French, English, Hebrew and German.


Ioannis Panagiotopoulos VP of Public Relations

Dr. Ioannis Panagiotopoulos was born in Athens on the 9th of May 1970. He resides at Ilion (Athens) but derives his origin from Tourkoleka, a little village in the North East of the region of Arcadia in Peloponnese.

Having graduated from the Faculty of Theology of the University of Athens at 1993, he was granted the postgraduate degree of the University of Durham at 1997. A year later (1998) he received another postgraduate degree from the University of Athens, Faculty of Theology. In the year 2002 he was nominated a Theology Doctor of the University of Athens. His major academic interest and research lies within the area of General Church History.

He accomplished his national military service as an officer second lieutenant (1997-1998). He also served as a teacher in Public (2007-2010) and Private (1999-2004) Schools of the Greek Secondary Education and as a Special Advisor to the General Secretariat of Information (2004-2007).

In 2008 Dr. Ioannis Panagiotopoulos was elected lecturer of General Church History at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Athens, where he was appointed in 2010. He is been active in politics since 1989. He was General Secretary of Mass Media (2012-2014), and candidate for the Greek parliament (January 2015). He is Deputy Secretary of Social Networks in the New Democracy party and member of the Committee of Education.




Ovidiu Palcu VP of Fundraising

Ovidiu Palcu, was born in 1972. He holds a Bachelor Degree in English Literature from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens’, School of Philosophy. In 2005, he received a Master Degree in Political Science (Balkan Studies) and two years later he enrolled for a PhD in Sociology in the University of Athens. In 2015, he obtained his second Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from The National Technical University of Athens’ (NTUA) School of Architecture.  

He is Director of the NGO “Contemporary Balkania” (www.balkaniacontem.ucoz.com), a transnational cultural association based in Athens, Vice-President of the Association of Foreign Journalists in Greece (www.foreignpress.gr) and External Scientific Associate/Research Assistant on Political Issues for the Greek Institute for Security and Defence Analysis (www.i-sda.eu).

He has cooperated and is affiliated with international organizations & policy networks regarding diaspora, migration and Greek issues. He has also worked as a freelance journalist for different publications and has a wide-range experience in European programs. 


Jean-Daniel Colombani, General Secretary

He was born in Nirva of Spain and ives in Athens for the last 12 years.  Spent his school years in Marseille, where he graduated from the 1st High School of Marseille in 1996. He graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences and International Studies of the French University of Amiens, continuing his studies at the School of Professional Journalism in France. Among the most significant moments of his early life while studying journalism were the interviews with the President of Libya and President of the African Union Mouamer Alkadafi and with the former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. His academic quest continued in Political Science.

Since 2000, he works in international newspapers throughout the world. In 2002, he was a correspondent for the Arabic Channel Aljazeera. Until 2004, he was publisher of the newspaper “Le monde Hellas” and since 2005 he was publisher of newspapers in 7 languages that are distributed in countries of The European Union.
In 2006-2007, he was an accredited correspondent in Brussels, while in 2008 he was a correspondent for the French channel FRANCE24 (Arabic section). Moreover, he is a member of the Foreign Journalists Association of Greece. His involvement with the common, starts from his student years when he was twice president of the seven-member council of the "Free Youth".
He participated in the struggle for the completion of the education law of 2000 in Morocco (Casablanca). From November 2008, until May 2012, he was Chairman of the Immigration Union of Greece (I.U.G) where he was involved with a number of proposals to Change the Migration policy of Greece.

Since June 2012, he is chairman of the Foreign journalists of Greece.
He has participated in many conferences and training events such as " European Youth Forum - cofounder of YM+" , "European Integration Forum", "International Visitor Leadership Program Of State Department of Usa", " Transatlantic Inclusion Leaders Event in Denmark"  and "The Conference of the Parties of United Nations Against Organised Crime" , "The Conference of the Parties of United Nations Against Organized Crime» and "Combating Discrimination, Violence and Intolerance based on Religion and National Origin".
He was a collaborator of the Ministry of Public Order, and serves as Special advisor of Minister of Health from August 2013 until 2014.
Mr. Colombani is a father of three children, Emilie, Emanouelle and Odysseus.
He is fluent in Greek, French, English, Romanian, Russian, Italian, Spanish and Arabic.
