Temporary AMKA for applicants for international protection - asylum and company "Eleftheria"
Temporary Social Security Registration Number (PAMKA)), instead of AMKA can now be obtained by applicants for international protection / asylum in order to have health and insurance coverage. This is a procedure that was decided and formulated after a Joint Ministerial Decision, according to which the assignment of a Temporary Insurance and Health Care Number of a foreigner (PAAYPA) is defined to all, without exception, the applicants for international protection.
This number will be given to the asylum seekers together with the asylum application form and will accompany them throughout the examination of their application.
It is also important that this number ensures that they have access to healthcare facilities, vaccinations against Covid-19, and access to the labor market six months after applying for international protection / asylum.
In this way, for the first time, the State can identify the health care costs and charges associated with migration / refugee flows and seek them in a way that is documented by relevant EU funds.
It is noted that the possible rejection of the asylum application implies the automatic deactivation of PA.Y.P.A., while, on the contrary, in case of acceptance of the application, its transfer to Social Security Registration Number (AMKA).
The administration of the Institute in a statement emphasizes:
"It is important for asylum seekers and international protection applicants to be informed and to understand that the issuance of the Provisional AMKA paves the way for the planning of the vaccination against Covid-19 and the issuance of a vaccination certificate. "Our State finds supporters of this legislation as we are already conducting similar campaigns in order to properly inform the company" Eleftheria ", these vulnerable social groups, and in order to protect them and protect their health."
